ABOUT THE MANICURING/NAIL TECHNICIAN PROGRAM:
Black Girl Beauty School of Careers welcomes students who are strong, self-motivated and fast paced learners who desire to learn, grow, beautify and help others. The beauty business is a recession free industry that’s wide open, with unlimited opportunities!
A Manicurist/Nail Technician/Nail stylist is the study of beautification to style and shape a person’s nails. This is achieved using a combination of decorating nails with coloured varnish, transfers, gems or glitter. Basic treatments include manicures and pedicures, as well as cleaning and filing nails and applying overlays or extensions. Students will learn how to perform tips and overlay, nail sculpting using a form, nail mending nail fills, artificial nail removal, nail polishing and nail art. Students will also learn how to maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and behaviors, which will help them gain a meaningful and successful career as a nail technician. They help clients achieve their beauty goals of the hands and feet and can assist in maintaining the general nails.
At Black Girl Beauty School of Careers we strive to support students through every phase of their education, graduation, and career placement. We offer this course at the apprenticeship school. Our apprenticeship on-the-job training is an amazing opportunity to learn from some of the best professionals that’s been in the industry for over 10 years. Our cosmetology program specializes in “Black Hair Care”. You’re walking into an industry that helps people look and feel great while building an exclusive clientele business within your own communities.

FAQS – NAIL TECHNICIAN
What qualities does an nail technician need? A professional manicurist/nail technician should be able to work well with their hands, and be kind and have an approachable manner. Manicurist/Nail Technician must be comfortable working with clients one-on-one. They should have the ability to make the customer feel relaxed. Manicurist/Nail Technicians should be knowledgeable about their clients nail care needs, as well as which products would work well with their nail types. A professional manicurist/nail technician should also be educated and informed on product interactions and the latest products and techniques for all nail types. Can I get financial aid to attend Nail Technician school? Black Girl Beauty School of Careers currently do not offer financial aid. However, we do have 3rd party loan agencies that offer student loans and no-interest payment plans. What are the job titles licensed estheticians can hold? These are just a few examples of jobs an esthetician can hold: Manicurist/Nail Technician Cruise Ships Specialize in Brides/Celebrities Post Secondary Options and Continuing Education: *Post-secondary manager certification *Post-secondary teachers certification *Specialized study and certification as a Esthetician, Massage Therapist, Theatrical Make-up Artist, and specific coiffures *College Degree Requirements for enrolling in Black Girl Beauty School of Careers: Students must be at least 16 years of age. Students must have a high school diploma/GED/High School Transcript with completion of the 10th Grade. Students must provide a copy of Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, and Driver’s License. Student's Must Complete Interest Form Enrollment Fee of $150.00 Due at time of enrollment. Student's Must Complete Application Student's Must Pay Deposit 2 In-take Interviews Tuition Loans and/or Payment Plans Are Available Through Our 3rd Party Loan Agencies After Initial Deposit Is Submitted
**All incoming students must attend an orientation which will be held on the 1st day of class. During orientation the student will learn about responsibilities and standards, the format of the program, the progression of the program, and how performance will be measured.
